Karim Soliman MD, MSc, PhD
is the founder of Teaching Kidneys LLC and an Associate Professor of Medicine/Surgery. He specializes in kidney and pancreas transplantation and has an extensive leadership background. Dr. Soliman previously served as the Medical Director of the Living Donor Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He currently holds dual roles as the Medical Director of Clinical Operations at MUSC and the Program and Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Dr. Soliman is the principal investigator for several national clinical trials.
Dr. Soliman is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology and holds a dual MD/PhD degree. In addition to authoring pocket-guides and book chapters on kidney and transplantation, he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals. He received multiple awards and has been an invited speaker at regional and national meetings. Dr. Soliman is a fellow of both the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation and a member of the American Society of Transplantation. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and creating educational videos and courses for patients, medical students, residents, and fellows. He excels at motorcycle riding and has won many championships.
